Jun Zhang is an assistant professor in the section of hematology and oncology at the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, USA, where she utilizes the latest laboratory discoveries to provide the most advanced personalized care. Dr Zhang is board certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. She earned her medical degree from the Hunan Medical University in Changsa, China, and completed an internship and residency at the Brookdale University Hospital in New York, NY, USA, and the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, USA. She then completed fellowship training in hematology and oncology at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.

Dr Zhang’s research interests focus on development of novel therapies in thoracic, and head and neck malignancies. She has expertise in treatment of pleural mesothelioma, lung cancer, and head and neck cancer. She is particularly interested in tumor biology and genomic studies, and in diagnosing cancer at a molecular level. She has authored or co-authored articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Experimental & Clinical Gastroenterology, and Chinese Journal of Cancer Research.
